Another common question type that you'll encounter on your Reasoning section is the Inference question. The process of inferring requires that you consider one or more statements as evidence and that you draw a conclusion from them.
Sometimes the inference is very close to the author's overall main point. Other times, it deals with a less central point. A valid inference is something that must be true if the statements in the passage are true — an extension of the argument rather than a necessary part of it.
For instance, look at this slightly modified version of our volleyball argument:
Sally is a volleyball player for Central High School. All volleyball players for Central High School are over 6 feet tall.
