What is a Quadratic Equation?

A quadratic equation is a univariate polynomial equation of the second degree. A general quadratic equation can be written in the form:
ax2 + bx + c = 0

Even though you probably haven’t seen these for some time, quadratic equations are very popular with standardized tests. Fortunately, there are a few key rules which make quadratics easier to handle, so you can ace the math section on test day.

The very first thing to remember is its definition: a quadratic is any equation that can be written , where a, b, and c are numbers and x is a variable.
