Khewra Salt Mines

Khewra salt mines are one of largest salt mines in the world and being mined since 1872. Its seams thickness is more than 18 meters. These mines are located in district Jhelum near Pind Dadin Khan City on Makarwal branch of the Pakistan Railway. Present 0.4 million production of salt, fluctuate with the local industrial demand of the country. Daily production of Khewra mine is 1000 metric tonnes.
