A comparison worth
Compare the two Generals. Park of Korea who gave
life of honour and plenty to his nation and faced assassination at the hands of
the corrupt mafia in 1979 to become immortal, with that the Musharraf of
Pakistan who for trifle gains for his person championed the cause of the
corrupt, made fun of the rule of law, tore the fabric of justice to pieces and
threw millions of the poor, powerless and downtrodden countrymen before the
unprincipled elite to get crushed under their grinding heels because they now
enjoyed immunity from all kinds of highhandedness and cruelties. The nation
should, however, not lose hope. One day a man of destiny with power to set
things right will emerge in Pakistan as well. It is a matter of time. Injustice
does not persist for long. He will usher in an era of true democracy which will
have elements of justice, fair play and accountability, as its soul. Pakistan
will become a true democracy one day. This aim can be achieved only by
destroying the power bases of the enemies of democracy. Firstly, feudalism must
be abolished forthwith. The tiller of the land should become its owner. Secondly,
industry should be subjected to reforms whereby the worker is given the rights
of ownership of the industrial concerns, to earn wages as well as dividends,
leaving reasonable profit margin to keep the entrepreneurial incentive intact.
This will pave way for the enforcement of democratic system of Islam as
portrayed by the Holy Quran which will mark the advent of true democracy.
