During the first three months Pakistan looked like a puritan society true to the ideals of Plato, Aristotle and Socrates. Daily newspapers lost their salt and spice. Not a single story of murder, dacoity, kidnapping for ransom, rape, looting, car lifting, eve-teasing, drug smuggling, or the exploits of the bravados of the underworld etc were there to report.
