Data Sufficiency : Yes/No Questions

Consider the question stem: Is x > 1?

The answer to this question is either "Yes," or "No." Yes/No Questions are another category of Data Sufficiency.

When a statement provides enough information to answer "Yes" the statement is sufficient. When a statement provides enough information to answer "No," the statement is sufficient.

A common error among test-takers is to forget that "No" is sufficient! Here’s another way to think about it; as long as a statement leads to a definite answer, it is sufficient. "Maybe", or "in some cases" are insufficient!
