Export of Cotton Yarn

Pakistan is one of the most important countries for cotton yarn export, but the quantity of exports fluctuates with the demand of the world market. The export of cotton yarn witnessed an increase of 6.4% during 2001-01 by moving to 3.9 million tones this year from 3.7 million tones the corresponding period of the last year. During 2008-09, export of cotton yams was 384,41 metric tones, which was 419,528 metric tones in 2007-06.

Although there is 5.7% fall in the unit value in the international market, yet, the textile sector is preparing itself for imminent competition and trying to expand the conventional market for textile products.
