Conclusion

Balochistan suffers from problems which are multi-pronged. The most critical problem the age-cad sardari system. It is the mainspring of most of its other problems. It stands between the advent of the modern age and the: primitive tribal system in which the people languish poverty but sardars remain unconcerned. The most glaring example is the recent initiative of t government to start mega projects of development which instead of earning appreciations from the sardars have attracted bitter criticism on the lame excuse that all this developmentĀ  will.benefit every one except the Baloch people. The fact is that development of the region is a threat to their over lordship in the region. That is the only reason for their opposition to developments

Under the Sardari (Abolition) Act of 1976, the perpetuation of the sardars is violation the Constitution. Their existence s no longer valid but they are very much there stronger the ever. The Act debars them from having any rights of ownership of the resources of the region which they would use only for their personal benefit and will not pass on their blessings to people. The fact is that authorities are not neglectful towards the development problems Balochistan. The sardars do not let the authorities interfere in their affairs. Bhutto did that and h - to face a four years insurgency which had to be quelled with an iron hand. Again with the start the mega projects all kinds of terrorist activities have begun with threats to let loose another of insurgency which they declare will be much more fatal than ever before.

The regionalists shed crocodile tears over the state of deprivation of the Baloch. province is rich in mineral wealth over which rights of the province are practically accept Section 172 of the Constitution says that any assets, resources or a piece of wealth that does belong to any individual or institution will be the property of the government of the province the people of the province. The extent of this mineral wealth is so vast that only a fraction has been prospected so far. Sardars also complain about injustice done to the Baloch in allocation of NFC award. No one knows sardari system will ever come to an end but meanwhile government should accept two of their most legitimate demands i.e. put an end to their sense deprivation and accord maximum provincial autonomy. It should employ maximum number Baloch personnel in the ongoing development projects and launch a program of public instruction to spread awareness among the people that all which is being done is for their benefit and not outsiders.
