Education is one of the most effective antidotes for the poisonous sardari system. Education enlightens the minds and gives humans self-respect that militates against the dictatorial powers of the sardars. If the son of an ordinary tribesman becomes a Police Officer, an Army Officer or his daughter becomes a doctor they will not be prepared to give absolute submission to the Sardar but would like to talk to him from a respectable position. It is because of this reason that no sardar will ever like to radiate light of education among his people or permit development of other infra-structure like roads and hospitais. Exposure of his people to civilized influences would mark end to his absolute authority. The sardars had enough resources to open schools in their areas. Their own offspring study in prestigious institutions of the country and foreign universities. Ever since the creation of Pakistan the central governments have been so weak that they never dared to take the risk of annoying the sardars. Bhutto was the sole exception who took strong action against rebellious sardars. Otherwise there never came any help from federal or provincial governments to change the plight of the masses. They had no option but to continue their allegiance to the sardars. The sardars plundered their wealth, exploited them for their personal gains on the one hand and blackmailed the weak federal governments, holding them responsible for the backwardness of the masses.
