Terrorism in Pakistan

Terrorism has hit Pakistan in the past and continues to cause a potent threat even in future. The causes of this kind of heinous violence are by and large exclusive due to Pakistan’s peculiar circumstances. Firstly, it is our unjust economic system that is dominated by feudalism in the agriculture and a profit hungry industrial set up geared to the exploitation of the labour class. This has created two distinctly discernible classes. A small percentage of population has grown fabulously rich leaving almost three fourth of it economically backward or even much below the line of absolute poverty. A sense of deep-seated hatred has developed among the have-nots for the affluent classes. Such economic frustration leads to bank robberies, dacoities, senseless killings, plundering and looting etc. secondly, the pseudo-democratic political environment that has prevailed so far, has failed to create a rational social order in the country. The silent majority suffering from helplessness in the affairs of the state, often clashes with the ruling elite violently. Thirdly, the Kalashnikov and heroine culture that has developed in Pakistan in the wake of the Afghan War fought against the Russians, has placed enormous quantity of lethal weapons at the disposal of the ethnic and sectarian groups who kill each other without remorse. They resort to bomb blasts in public places killing the unwary innocent civilians. Fourthly, quite often it is the work of Indian Intelligence agency RAW that trains terrorists especially for carrying out deadly operations in Pakistan. It also indulges in acts of economic terrorism by attacking the foreigners to discourage the tourist trade and development activity.
