Multiple Event Probability

Many probability questions involve finding the probability of a certain outcome after multiple events take place (a coin is tossed several times, etc.). These questions can be slightly trickier than the previous example.

To determine multiple-event probability where each individual event must occur a certain way:

  • Figure out the probability for each individual event.
  • Multiply the individual probabilities together.

Let's see an example:

If a fair 2-sided coin is tossed three times, what is the probability of tossing heads the first 2 times and tails the third time?
