Lesson: Geometry Challenging - 11

Inscribed Figures

An inscribed figure is one that is drawn inside another, usually with the edges touching. For example if you drew a triangle inside a square, the triangle is inscribed in the square.

Easy and intermediate level geometry questions usually test single figures: one triangle, one quadrilateral, or one circle. More challenging geometry questions combine figures. Such combination figures may include overlapping quadrilaterals or triangles paired with circles.

A figure is inscribed within a circle if all of its vertices lie on the circumference of the circle.

In the diagram above, quadrilateral ABCD is inscribed within Circle M.
