About - St Albans Catholic Academy Harlow

St Albans Catholic Academy Harlow school building is bright and well maintained with eight classrooms. The school is surrounded by extensive grounds with sports field and a playground. It became an academy in the year 2011 from LA maintained school St Alban's Primary School. The school has close relationship with an independent preschool operating on the same site, sharing resources and with commonality of governance.

The governing of St Albans is the admission authority and the school provides for the full-time admission of all children offered a place in the reception group from the September following their fourth birthday. Parents can request to defer admission until the child reaches compulsory school age in the school year, thus,the school will put on hold the defer entry and not offer and not offer it to another child. The parent would not, however, be able to defer entry beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the academic year for which the original application was accepted. Morning session for children of parents opting to take up a part time place until child reach compulsory school age . Even the place in the pre-school does not guarantee a place in the school. In case of oversubscribed where more applications are received than the places available preference is given base on the set criteria given.The school maintains a waiting list for a rolling year with new applicants being ranked as per the admissions criteria.
