What is Exam CAT?

The Exam is a standardized test. That means it's predictable, and you can learn how to master it. Chances are that you have taken standardized tests before — you may have been required, for example, to take the SAT to gain admission to college. Once upon a time, standardized tests were all pencil-and-paper exams, but many, including the Exam, are now only offered as a CAT (Computer Adaptive Test). CATs are a bit harder to understand, so we'll look at how they work in this lesson. But before we look at the CAT, let's take a look at a few questions about the Exam and testing in general.

Select the correct answer, and then click Continue.

1. Is the Exam an intelligence test?

Yes

No

Maybe

Definitely not! The Exam is not an intelligence test. The Exam tests specific math and verbal skills. In theory, you can't raise your score on an intelligence test. You can and will raise your score on the Exam if you study what is tested, how it is tested, and the best way to approach the test.
