PPSC Exam for Statistical Officer Past Sample Papers

The PPSC - Punjab Public Service Commission eaxm for the posts of Statistical Officer is based on one aptitude test. The test is comprised of subject knowledge.

Qualification Required

  • Master’s degree in Statistics from a recognized University
  • Ability to pass Statistical Aptitude Test prescribed by the Department

Written Exam Syllabus

  • Measures of Central Tendency: Arithmetic Mean, Geometric Mean, Harmonic Mean, Median and Mode.
  • Measures of Dispersion: Standard Deviation, Variance, Co-efficient of Variation, Skewness, Kurtosis.
  • Regressions and Correlation: Simple, partial and Multiple.
  • Hypothesis Testing: z, t, F and x2 Tests of Significance.
  • Planning and Designing of Experiment: Principles of Experimental Designs. Layout of experiments.
  • Basic Experimental Designs: Completely Randomized Design, Randomized Complete Block Design, Latin Square Design, Split Plot Design, Factorial experiments and Incomplete Block Designs.
  • Analysis of Variance of above mentioned designs
  • Multiple Comparison test: Least Significant Difference & Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test.
  • Sampling in field experiments: Plot and plant sampling
