Power Sector

Total installed generation capacity witnessed an increase of 2.1 percent during 2009-10 against the 1.0 percent growth in corresponding period last year. With the share of 31.6 percent in total   installed capacity during 2009-10, private sector witnessed the prominent growth of 7.1 percent in its installed capacity during the period under review. On the other hand, installed capacity of WAPDS declined by 0.5 percent during July-march 2009-D. Furthermore, the installed capacity of KESC stood at 1,955 MW during the period under review.
