Task: Select the correct answer and then click Continue.

In the diagram, the blue region is a square with an area of 25. If EH has a length twice that of IH, and HG has a length four times that of HK, then what is the perimeter of rectangle EFGH?

60
130
200
270
340

The area of a square is a side times a side, or . We are given the area which we can then use to find the sides IH and HK:

Since the length of the rectangle is 4 times the side, it equals 20. Since the width of the rectangle is 2 times the side, it equals 10. The perimeter of the rectangle is therefore 2(20)+2(10)=60.
