About - Sunnymede Junior School

It was opened as Sunnymede Primary School on the 4th September 1958 and since then the school population has grown considerably from 20 children at the start. It was in the mid 1960s that the school was split into separate infant and junior schools. Sunnymede Junior provide a caring and stimulating school for all children and encouraged them to thrive both academically and socially.

Years 3,4,5 and 6September
All application for admission into Year 3 must be made on the Primary Schools Common Admission Form and submit to Essex County Council by the closing date as well as application for transfer/admission into other year groups, Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 using ‘In Year Application Form’. Pupils will be admitted at age 7 (8, 9 & 10) without reference to ability or aptitude. The number intended to admit in all age groups is 64. Where a child has a statement of Special Educational Need and Sunnymede Junior School is named in the statement, then the child will be admitted. Where applications exceed the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied in the order given, to decide which children to admit: In the event of oversubscription within any of the above criteria, priority will be determined by straight line distance from home to school with those living closest being given highest priority.Exceptional medical circumstances (supported by medical evidence) may override the above. Late applications for Year 3 and waiting lists will be handled in accordance with the co-ordinated admissions scheme operated by ECC. Please note that in the event of oversubscription a waiting list is maintained and kept until 31st December for the year of admission.div>
