About - St Thomas More Catholic Primary School Saffron Walden

St Thomas More Catholic Primary School was founded in 1970 and located in an open within walking distance of the attractive market town of Saffron Walden which serves the parishes of Saffron Walden, Thaxted, Bardfields and Stansted. The school has spaciously designed building, a large assembly/dining hall, kitchen and music area, a library, KS2 and KS1 activity area, and a special education needs room.div>

Parents wishing to apply for a place in the school for their child in the next school year must complete the Essex Common Application Form. The Common Application Form must be returned to Essex County Council by the published closing date. They also need to complete Supplementary Information Form (SIF) to be returned to the school. Children are admitted to the school in the reception class full time in September each year. However parents can request that admission is deferred until the child reaches statutory school age. Parents can opt for a part time to their child until they reaches statutory school age. In the event of over subscription following the set out criteria, places will be offered to those with siblings in the school followed by closest proximity to the school, with distances being calculated using the Local Authorities GIS system which accurately measures the straight line distance between the home address and the school.
