About - St Andrews CEVC Primary School Great Yeldham

The Church founded St Andrew’s CE School in 1876 to provide education according to the principles and practices of the Church of England. The School, which is legally owned by the Trustees. Strong links are fostered between the School, the Church and the Local Authority. The School, situated on the A1017, comprises of the original Victorian building linked to a fairly modern wing by a library and foyer area built in 1995. In 2009 an Asia garden was established whilst working with the Royal Opera House Creative Partnerships. The playground is zoned into the 5 continents of Asia, Australasia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.

Mulberry Class

All children start full time in the September of the academic year in which they are five, if their parents so wish. They will enter the Early Years class and follow the curriculum as specified in the ‘Early Learning Goals’. St Andrew’s includes a part time induction period of 2 weeks, for the Spring and Summer born children. There is no guarantee of a place for children living in priority admissions area. In the event of over subscription places will be allocated following the given order of criteria . Thus ,within any of those criteria, highest priority will be determined by straight line distance from home to school, those living closest to the school. Exceptional medical circumstances override the rules. If places remain after admission of priority children, children living outside the designated priority area will then be in the same priority as for priority admissions children.v>
