South Green Infant School is an average sized infant school opened in 1965 when they are separated from the growing Primary School. The infant school shared the same site with Junior school.

The school offer 5 free mornings or afternoon sessions to children who are 3 years old and above for entry in Nursery. Where possible children will be admitted for a minimum of three terms on a part time basis prior to their school start date in September.Where there are places, pupils may be admitted in the term after the child's 3rd birthday. No children under 3 will be admitted. Admissions will be handled under a co-ordinated arrangement operated by Local Authority where application forms issued by your home LA and should be returned to them direct by the National closing date. Children will be admitted into Reception Year classes with birthdays between 1st September 2012 and August 31st 2013 will be admitted in the Autumn term with pupils with birthdays between 1st May and 31st August having a part time induction period. All pupils will be full time by Autumn half term. Parents who wish to use their statutory right to delay their child’s admittance to school until their fifth birthday can still do so and should consult with the Head teacher once they receive confirmation of a school place.
