About - Merrylands Primary School

Merrylands Primary School opened in 1977 where it plays an active part in the wider community and parents and visitors are always welcome. The school delivers a broad and balanced curriculum with experienced staff trained to a high level. In addition to gaining language, mathematical, scientific and technological skills, your child will build confidence, develop self-esteem, learn to make decisions and develop the ability to articulate feelings and ideas.

Children are admitted to school at the beginning of the academic year in which they their fifth birthday. There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admission area . In the event of oversubscription it is governed by set of criteria. Whereas, oversubscription is within any of the given criteria; thus proximity (straight line distance) of the child's home to the school will be given highest priority.
