About - Great Tey Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School

Great Tey School was founded in 1872 by the Church of England. It is a small and friendly village school with a Christian ethos. The school encourage an environment in which children can enjoy, have fun and be creative in their learning and take pleasure in welcoming you to our modern, well equipped school, which lies at the heart of the local community.

Admission procedure is dealt with by Essex County Council. To register your child for school, please contact the school as soon as possible after your child reaches the age of two. There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admission area. In the event of there being more applicants than places available the following criteria will apply in priority order. Should there be more applicants than can be accommodated that fall within any one of these selected criteria, then places will be assigned first to those living closest to the school on the basis of straight line distance from the school gate. Exceptional medical circumstances (supported by medical evidence) may override the above, other than Looked After Children.
