"Out" can't be right, based on the rest of the sentence. One can
pick out a movie and be grammatically correct, but one picks up
an order. Sorry, there's really nothing more to explain, because
there's no reason why this (or any other) idiom behaves in a
certain way. It just does.
Notice too that we phone orders "in". Why? 'Cause we do.
