Distribution Location of Woollen Textile Industry

Wool spinning and weaving by indigenous methods such as cottage industry is an oldy practice in Pakistan. It is done in all provinces, especially mountainous areas of Swat, Chitral, Dir. Northern Areas of Pakistan and Baluchistan province.

Our modern woollen textile industry has also been established in all the four provinces. Some of the important centres are;

• Baluchistan: Harnai, Mastung and Quetta.
• Sindh: Karachi, Kotri, Hyderabad, Larkana,
• KPK: Nowshehra, Bannu, Charsadda.
• Punjab: Lahore, Sahiwal, Multan, Ismailabad (Multan), Faisalabad, Jhang, Quaiabad, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Lawrencepur.
