The Punjab small industrial corporation (PSIC) has
developed industrial estates of Sialkot, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore,
Bahawalpur, Daska and two small industrial estates at Chakwal and Gujar Khan.
The PSIC has further planned to establish 20 more small industrial estates
under roll-over scheme at different places in the province.
The PSIC has launched the ‘Rural Industrialization
program and Self Employment Scheme” which will create a new class of
rural/urban entrepreneur. To accelerate self-employment in Engineering
University/ Polytechnic Institutes and other training centers.
For improving quality and quantity of industrial
output PSIC has established various technology service centers in the field of
light engineering, leather, woodworking blue pottery and bone china.
Corporation has also established handicrafts development centuries, carpet
centers, decimal door centers etc., to ensure an adequate supply of skilled
manpower.
