Following are the major political causes for backwardness of industrial sector.

Unstable Political System

The political system of Pakistan has remained unstable, since partition (1947). Frequent changes in the government have been taking place until now. So due to - political instability, investors (local & foreigner) remain hesitant in making investment in the industrial sector.

Kashmir Issue

Due to Kashmir issue, we faced two wars and are in warlike conditions. Therefore Pakistan is forced to investment for arms and ammunition, in prevailing conditions public sector could not afforded heavy investments for industries, while private investors are hesitant in this situation.
