Pakistan and World Peace

Pakistan has always been a great champion of world peace. Either it is the case of war against terrorism a potential threat to world peace or Russian expansionist designs on South Asia or India’s aggressive policies towards Kashmir Pakistan has always done its level best to be peace friendly. Pakistan know n’s what world peace in always disturbed by unbalance of power. Poverty greed of big powers expansionist designs of megalomania and festering wounds of the world like Palestine, Kashmir and Afghanistan has never harbored any expansionist programs through military action; and for the same reason Pakistan has always vigorously and unambiguously opposed the expansionist policies of other nations. Nor has Pakistan ever failed to speak openly and emphatically against the arms race that has been a feature of the world scene ever since the end of World War II. Pakistan’s foreign policy, too, has always been governed and shaped by her desire to establish and maintain friendly relations with all the nations of the world. Much can be said against Pakistan and her rulers, past and present, but one thing even the bitterest critic of Pakistan must admit and that is Pakistan’s sincere and ardent desire that world peace be put on stable foundations and that a world war should be avoided under all circumstances .In all international conferences, including the deliberations of the U.N.O. on the subject of world disarmament. Pakistan has been throwing her weight on the side of world peace.

Continuance of world peace

Pakistan’s record in the debates and discussions held under the auspices of the U.N.O: is a convincing proof of her genuine desire for world peace. The Korean War, the Anglo-French invasion of Egypt, the suppression of risings in Hungary, the developments in the Congo, the Cuban crisis, the prolonged American military action in Vietnam, the Arab-Israel dispute, the colonial rule in Africa and African liberation struggles, US invasion on Iraq, NATO invasion on Afghanistan relentless butchery of Kashmir, brutal murder of Muslims in Indian Gujarat, and besiege of Gaza by Israel all these were occasions when Pakistan took up a sensible and judicious stand, supporting the cause of peace and condemning the aggressor nations whoever they were. Pakistan’s views and opinions, as expressed on these and similar other occasions, were always moulded by her passionate desire for the continuance of world peace and by her belief in the principle of peaceful co-existence.
