Broadcasting and its Advantages

 After the independence of our country broadcasting has made great progress. There are many broadcasting stations in Pakistan and many more are being opened every year. Radio broadcasts can be heard even in the remote villages of our country. Now-days more or less every family in our country possesses a radio set. Some families have more than one radio sets also.

These days transistors have also become very popular. They are quite handy and cheap so that every person can afford to purchase them. One can listen to songs, music, news, etc. Aap Ki Farmaish programd has become very popular with all the music lovers during the past few years. Many advertisers also sponsor programrs for the publicity of their products.

Radio broadcasting is a great source of recreation as well as education. For the masses it is one of the most popular forms of entertainment. Whenever they feel bored or tired they can switch on the radio. Most of the people like listening to the radio during their leisure time. Radio programrs are highly popular with the children, young and the old alike. There re special programrs relayed for the students, soldiers, women, and children. Once in a week an important film personality organizes a programr of film songs for the Jaw ans which is very popular. -

The programrs for the children are especially prepared for them. These programrs are very educative and teach the children many good things. Similarly, the programrs for the women are also important. The women are taught many important things regarding child health and welfare, sanitation, cooking, social problems, etc. The listeners can also write letters to the radio station which are replied on certain fixed days of the week.

There are many other popular programrs like film songs, short lays, classical music, etc. which are broadcast on the radio network. Talks by eminent authorities are also broadcast on many important social, political .and economic problems facing the country as well as the world.

The news is also broadcast many times daily from all the stations of Radio Pakistan. By listening to the current news the masses can know about the latest national as well as international happenings. During the times of war and elections special news bulletins are also broadcast to keep the nation aware- of the latest: happenings. During the last elections the election results were broadcast throughout the 24 hours of the day.

Similarly, whenever important matches are being played in any part of the country a running commentary is broadcast on the radio. The radio commentary regarding the Cricket Test Matches is especially popular among all the sections of the society in Pakistan. There are also special broadcasts for schools and colleges. During the examination days special lectures on different subjects are also broadcast by the radio to help the students in preparing for their examinations.

Thus, we see that radio broadcasting has a great educative value for the masses of our country. It has a special role to play in imparting news and information to our people the majority of whom are living in the villages. It can also help in the removal of social, economic, political and moral evils prevailing in our society through imaginative’ programrs.
