International Islamic University was created to produce scholar and
practitioners with Islamic ideology, and who have character and personality
conforms to the teachings of Islam, and who are capable to cater to the economic,
social, political, technological and intellectual needs of the Muslim Ummah.
The University has an enrollment of over 22,000 students including 2200 Doctoral and Post-Graduate Students from more than 50 countries. IIU has exclusive campus for female students with enrollment of over 10,000.

Separate Classes for Female Students
IIU offers separate classes for female students in a full equipped and most modern campus. It is the only university in Pakistan which has facilities of higher learning for females students in an independent environment. A large number of female students come here for advanced studies from all parts of the world.
The Female Campus has 20 departments of the nine Faculties of the University, with a teaching staff more than 200 including 30 PhDs. Similarly, the number of students is about 6,589 in 2009. Being an international university, there are students from 45 countries who are enrolled, with the largest representation coming from China.
