PAF - Engineering

The Engineer in the PAP is no longer a behind-the-scene worker. He is very much in stride with his pilot colleagues to shoulder the combat responsibility. He plays pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the operational efficiency of the Air Force. He leads a team of highly skilled technicians to ensure that all the weapon systems operate to their optimum capacity. A promising Engineer will also get ample facilities for higher training abroad and to carry out research and development. The training we impart is the best available and the syllabi are designed to bring out the best in you.

Regular Courses

The regular courses for the Engineering Branch of the PAF are inducted through CAE, PAE Academy, Risalpur.

Selection Criteria

  • Qualifications
    • H.Sc./F.Sc. (Pre Engg.) with percentage as specified in the advertisement. (The candidates having passes F.Sc. from foreign academic institutions will have to get equivalence certificate)
    • Senior Cambridge in five subjects and should have passed Physics, Chemistry and Math in A level.
    • GCE(O) level in five subjects and should have passed Physics and Math in A level.
  • Age
    16 to 22 years for civilians and 16V2 to 23 years for serving airmen on the date of commencement of course.
  • Marital Status
    Unmarried male citizens of Pakistan.

Ineligibility

  • Twice rejected/screened out by Inter-Services Selection Board (ISSB)
  • Declared unfit by CMB/CMH or any Armed Forces Appeal Medical Board for commissioning in Pak Army/Pak. Navy/PAF. The candidates declared unfit by CMB/CMH would remain ineligible unless they are declared fit by Appeal Medical Board.
  • Dismissed from any Government Service or withdrawn from any Service training institution.
  • Convicted by a court of law for any offence involving moral turpitude.

Selection Procedure

  • Intelligence Test, Interview and Preliminary Medical Examination followed by Academic Tests in Physics, Math and English at PAF Information & Section Centre.
  • Tests/interview by ISSB and Medical Examination by CMB.
  • Final selection in order of merit by Air Headquarters.

Training

2 years training at PAF College of Aeronautical Engineering for BE (Engg.) in Aerospace or Avionics.

Commissioning

On successful completion of training you earn your Permanent Commission in the Engineering Branch of the Air Force.
