I have a large circle of friends
who are dearer to me than my own life. It is very difficult to name my choice
off-hand. My maximum time is spent in the company of Salman whom I call Sunny
but others call him Mirchi. I do not know what quality of chilly
they find in him but for me he is sweeter than honey.
He is one of the best canter-forwards
in the hockey team of our College. His only ambition is to bring Pakistan on
the Olympic match once again in this game. He is an ace sprinter and when he chases
the ball, no one can recover it from him. He was the captain of the College
junior team which participated in the national games.
It is surprising how he can stand
first in different subjects in the class. Most of the players occupy back seats
in the class and relax when the teacher writes something on the blackboard. He
is very active and keeps on asking searching questions. Last year, he decided
to take part in an Urdu play and he acted the milk-man so well that the spectator
burst out with laughter. He had observed the milkman very closely and noted
down all his actions before mimicking him on the stage.
You will not believe if I say that
he is the best debater. How can a single person combine all these qualities? He
has learnt this art from his father. His father taught him to put his heart and
soul in anything he did. He often tells me that we should be like a person who
did not see anything but they have eye of the fish when he shot an arrow. We
cannot achieve much because our minds are divided most of the time. When we
study, we should study and forget everything about the games, when we play, our
mind should not see anything but the ball. It is the secret of his success.
I wish. I could also follow him in his foot-steps.
