Young Development Fellows Program (YDF)

YDF is a unique opportunity for young people who are highly qualified, motivated in areas relevant to planning commission`s work such as:

Development
Economics
Energy
Social Sectors
Strategic Planning
Information Technology
Project Management
Project Appraisal
Public Policy and Governance
Development Communications
Infrastructure Development
Performance Management & Evaluation

Eligibility Criteria:

Minimum Requirements:
Be 30 years of age or younger
Ph.D. / Masters Degree from a reputable foreign or local university in the above-mentioned fields
Preferably at least 2 years of relevant professional experience related to development or continued academic study at doctoral level

Additional Qualifications:

Display a Commitment and passion for national development
Possess outstanding academic credentials
Exhibit excellent team leadership skills
Be motivated to travel and undertake field assignments

Professional Experience:

YDF will be a one year program with built-in “stretch/learning assignment” where they will gain valuable on-job experience. They are members of a team where they are expected to make significant contributions towards the unit’s work program while gaining a board overview of planning commission’s policies and functions. YDF will be paid an attractive monthly pay package.

Selection Cycle:

It is a two-month selection process and the selected candidates are expected to join in October 2013. The successful candidates will have to respond within two weeks of their selection. Offers are only binding for the current year and will not be extended to the following year.

Scrutiny & shortlisting of candidates: August 16-Sep 10
Interviews of the shortlisted candidates: Sep 11-Sep-Sep 25
Final list of selected candidates displayed: September 30
